Japanese legal interpretersIf you have clients or witnesses who cannot communicate effectively in your required language without an interpreter, we provide qualified legal and court hearing interpreters for various types of legal proceedings to help them. Court interpreters (also referred to as translators) at TJC Global also work outside of court, in areas such as depositions, witness preparation, meetings amongst attorneys, solicitors, barristers and clients, interviews with court personnel, and anything else involving court documents.

When legal proceedings involve more than one language, there is a danger that important information may be lost. At TJC Global, we understand the challenges posed by legal interpreting. We believe that knowledge of local culture and local protocol has an important part to play in legal interpretation. We also understand that no legal concept is universal and that it is important that an interpreter has a thorough working knowledge of the language they are translating to and from. This is why we carefully select our legal interpreters to ensure they meet the highest professional standards. In addition to providing high-quality interpreters with substantial experience in litigation, deposition and arbitration work, we are also able to cater for situations such as police interviews; face-to-face meetings between solicitors, barristers, attorneys and clients; legal conferences and seminars and all types of hearings and tribunals.

What forms of interpretation does TJC Global provide?

Simultaneous interpreting (also available with Video Remote Interpretation (VRI))

is used for international conferences, critical business discussions, seminars & symposiums. In this case, there are usually two to three interpreters situated in a booth, away from the audience, who take turns to interpret at high speed, changing over every 15-20 minutes to avoid fatigue.

The interpreters use headsets to listen to the message of the speaker and repeat it immediately (practically "simultaneously") in the target language for the benefit of relevant audience members.

Consecutive interpreting (also available with Video Remote Interpretation (VRI)is the most common type of interpreting. It is used for business discussions, negotiations, contract exchanges, commercial, legal, technical discussions, medical or court hearings or on site inspections. The interpreter listens to the speaker, often making notes, and delivers the meaning in the target language afterwards. The interpreter may wait until a pause or the end, at which point they deliver a translation relatively quickly. Consecutive interpreting may also be used at conferences for panel discussions, Q&A sessions or private discussions between parties - at a stand or elsewhere.

Telephone / teleconference interpreting is a practical way to bridge any language barriers. The interpreter is either located remotely (away from either party) or is with one of the parties. In both cases they deliver interpreting services through telephone conferencing.

Telephone interpretation is useful for clients who cannot travel to their counterparts' country, but still wish, for example, to hold business discussions or to communicate progress updates.  At TJC Global, we are very happy to provide you with professionally qualified interpreters around the world in almost any selected language combinations.

Video / videoconference interpreting is a practical alternative for meetings/presentations that cannot be held in person. It allows attendees to see one another, as well as share visual aids, such as documents and powerpoint presentations. This is the key advantage video conferencing has over telephone conferencing, although both enable participation in presentations and conferences by people located anywhere in the world.

By participating in your video conference, our professionally qualified interpreters can interpret remotely to facilitate smooth communication between all parties, whichever language pairing you require.
